Although dry finishing is therefore mainly used for polishing , it can also used for grinding operation for some applications. Here, a polishing paste or powder adheres to the polishing medium. The motion generated in the mass finishing process causes friction between the medium and the workpiece, thereby removing material stock and giving a highly polished surface.
